GEICO is seeking a Senior Staff Technology Portfolio Manager with a blend of technical and portfolio management experience to help drive our insurance business transformation as we move from a traditional IT model to a tech organization with engineering excellence as its mission. In this role, you will oversee the planning, execution, and management of technology programs and projects. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of technology solutions that align with business objectives.
Key Accountabilities:
Define and drive an enterprise AI roadmap aligned with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and emerging opportunities.
Define and track AI performance metrics and KPIs, including accuracy, drift detection, ROI, adoption rates, and ethical compliance.
Champion agile and experimental delivery methods tailored for AI initiatives—integrating rapid iteration, data-driven experimentation, and continuous learning.
Partner with data science, engineering, and product teams to prioritize and sequence AI initiatives based on value, feasibility, and impact.
Educate and upskill stakeholders (technical and non-technical) on AI concepts, best practices, and responsible usage.
Evaluate and integrate emerging AI technologies and platforms to enhance the company’s innovation and competitive advantage.
Ensure cross-functional alignment and adoption of AI solutions, driving organizational change and cultural readiness for AI transformation.
Regularly communicate AI program progress and impact through dashboards, executive briefings, and transparent reporting mechanisms.
Qualifications
Strong strategic thinking, collaboration, and project management skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong technical acumen and proven experience guiding technical project teams
Proven experience managing complex, cross functional technology programs and projects
Demonstrated understanding of the underlying technology in core areas such as product, platform, enterprise, data AI/ML, cyber, or infrastructure.
Proven experience developing impactful relationships at all levels to influence and drive change
Ability to work with complexity, strong critical thinking, and excellent problem-solving skills
Proactive, with the ability to thrive in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment
Strong analytical, quantitative, and qualitative skills; Data driven and results-oriented; detail-oriented
