Purpose of Role

The Assistant Product Line Manager (APLM) of Youth will be given the opportunity to work with Under Armour’s most important Teams, Partners, and Sports Marketing Assets while ensuring they’re being outfitted with the greatest performance solutions our Brand has to offer for Practice, Training, and Recovery.  In this role of

Associate PLM of Youth, you will report to the Director and you contribute to the product creation efforts to ensure our Brand shows up consistently with our partners while curating a product line built efficiently by the organization that leverages UA’s greatest innovations and best product solutions for our Teams and Athletes. You will help navigate a complex mix of Merchandising and Product Creation that will allow UA to fully maximize our partnerships through Brand exposure as well as direct and indirect revenues in the market.  In doing so, you will contribute to creating insightful and impactful product briefs, interacting with the consumer and assessing the market to identify trends in the market. You'll also support the team in creating impactful presentations to sell-in the product at the appropriate gates and be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of our systems and other sales tools.

Your Impact

  • Build the product line and help carry the process from concept to commercialization. Assist in building the brief and communicate the vision to cross functional partners.  Work with design, development and sourcing through the fit and development process to deliver great product that hits margin targets and the numbers
  • Data and systems management.  Oversee, manage, and ensure all systems + data are up to date and input on time
  • Develop business acumen. Partner with planners, merchandisers, sales, and Director to develop strong understanding of the numbers.  An Associate PLM should be able to analyze and articulate information around bookings, sales, and trends to inform future line plan decisions
  • Collaborate with Sports Marketing and Global Regions to build best in class product for Collegiate and Professional assets/partners
  • Connect with the Athlete. Work with, observe, and gain crucial athlete insights informing and influencing product. Be knowledgeable on the market landscape and the competition
  • Assist Director to outline and manage seasonal business plans to include growth opportunity based on product range (styles/skus), price positioning, channel distribution, delivery launch and flow through
  • Have detailed knowledge of the product in your area – keeping record of fabric, trims, fit, costing and approval timelines pertaining to each style
  • Have detailed knowledge of Under Armour’s greatest innovations and performance solutions to support the effort of these brand stories showing up on our Team Athletes. 
  • Assist in product presentations internally and externally
  • Responsible for data entry into Centric/Armoury, and other related systems.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned as needs of the business change. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with typically 2 years of related experience or Masters degree without experience or typically 6 years of relevant experience without degree.
  • Project management, product marketing and/or Consumer insight experience.
  • Strong presentation, organization, project and time management, collaboration and influencing skills. Team Player Attitude
  • Customer Service orientation, problem solver, obsessed with quality.
  • Preferred experience managing Full Product Life Cycle
