Production Engineer

Job Description

Stepan is seeking a Production Engineer to join our Production team in Elwood, IL. In this role, you will report to the site Technical Manager. In this role, Production Engineers will provide day to day technical support to a process area for safety, compliance, quality, and production issues. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshooting and support production team during process and equipment issues.
• Participate in and lead Root Cause Failure Analysis investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Participate in capital project development, from design to startup.
• Monitor the area health in regard to compliance, quality and production.
• Facilitate changes in the area through Management of Change process.
• Participate in Process Hazard Analysis for new process and serve as lead technical representative for PHA revalidations.
• Track and analyze area downtime, implementing corrective actions to address the sources of lost throughput.

Qualifications

• 0 years including internship experience required or 1-3 years of experience, other experience levels will be considered.
• Ability to facilitate troubleshooting efforts.
• Demonstrated problem solving skills.

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or similar major required
