Job Description

As a Firmware Engineer for the Capacity Enterprise Hard Disk Drive Recording Sub-Systems (RSS) team, you'll be working with a group of tech experts to develop cool new features for hard drives. We're all about making these drives hold more data while still performing well and not breaking the bank.

You'll be responsible for making sure the firmware that keeps all that data safe and secure is designed, tested, and analyzed properly. This means you'll get to work on all kinds of projects, from coming up with new firmware designs to testing and analyzing failures.

Daily Programming Language: C & C++ 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Development of Python-based test automation tools required for the validation of hard disk drive data integrity-related features
  • Participate in all aspects of test automation design including the test algorithms, interface to the HDD FW, and structure of the Python test scripts
  • Develop and execute test validation plans to demonstrate the correct operation of the test automation tools
  • Collaborate and work effectively as a member of a multi-site agile engineering development team

 

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED:

    • Current student pursuing a BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, graduating between December 2023 - May 2024
    • Skilled in Python development
    • Proficient in C/C++
    • Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to handle a diverse range of issues and recommend solutions with data taken into consideration
    • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
    • Capable of achieving results in a fast-moving, dynamic environment
