FT Housekeeper 37.5 hours weekly (Mondays - Fridays 8am-4pm)

Description

Mercy Home for Children provides comprehensive care to individuals with developmental disabilities and we are hiring for a Housekeeper position in the Rosedale Queens location.  

Ability to read, good organization, and communication skills. Exceptional skills in housekeeping and use of safety precautions in all housekeeping chores. Must be enthusiastic, highly motivated, and have a positive attitude. A High School Diploma or a GED is required.

Requirements

• Maintain facility in a sanitary and infection-free condition through washing, cleaning.
• Must clean up human waste and other body fluids, as required.
• Responsible for disposal of trash, waste, and other disposable materials.
• Clean wash basins, mirrors, commodes, tubs, and showers daily.
• Daily attention to all rooms of the residence and check all areas for spills, water, etc., especially in all bathrooms.
• Check all vacant rooms daily to keep fresh.
• Report any needed repairs (i.e., leaky faucets or toilets, beds needing repairs) and submit a list of needed supplies to immediate supervisor.
• Assist consumers in the training of general household chores.
• Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of consumers, employees and public.
• Familiar with OSHA Blood-borne pathogen standards.
• Knowledge of various cleaning solvents, chemicals, etc.
• Operates various mechanized cleaning equipment.
• General skills in all areas of housekeeping.
• Other tasks and duties as assigned.
