  • Syndication of US$ debt offerings with the objective of achieving the issuer’s goals for the issue, while minimizing CIBC underwriting risk

    Communication with CIBC global sales and trading professionals regarding new government, investment grade and high yield issues

    Interacting with external/internal syndicate desks regarding new issues

    Preparation of necessary documentation for internal deal approval

  • Ongoing coverage of US investors, in conjunction with sales professionals, to determine market demand and reverse enquiry opportunities

  • Ongoing coverage of US and Canadian issuers, in conjunction with origination professionals, providing market color and investor feedback

  • Development and maintenance of relationships with syndicate desks at the other dealers

Skill set

  • Demonstrated ability to interact with senior level government, corporate, financial and institutional officials

    in particular, knowledge of the energy, utility, high yield, Canadian bank and government sectors

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong modeling and technical skills

Experience

  • In-depth understanding of fixed income markets and bond fundamentals

  • Previous syndication and trading experience, demonstrating a solid background in the management of u/w risk

  • Experience in executing IG offerings

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package.  This role has an expected salary of $400,000 for the New York, NY market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position.  The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. Additional total compensation and benefits details will be provided during the hiring process.
