Overview
The Senior Director of State Product Management is responsible for achieving results for a line of business of multiple lines of business and/or a sizable geographic area. Identifies challenges and opportunities for the business area by evaluating competitor actions, regulatory relationships, legislative issues, distribution strategy and operational processes throughout the company.

State specific pay scales for this role are as follows:
$158,252 to $410,526(CA, NJ, NY, WA, HI, AK, MD, CT, RI, MA)
$158,252 to $410,526(NV, OR, AZ, CO, WY, TX, ND, MN, MO, IL, WI, FL, GA, MI, OH, VA, PA, DE, VT, NH, ME)

The expected base salary for this position will vary depending on a number of factors, including relevant experience, skills and location.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for formulating strategy to increase premium and improve profitability for a line of business of multiple lines of business and/or a sizable geographic area. Drives actions across functional teams and positions the organization to achieve results
- Thought leader for the company with an ability to influence corporate decisions that often extend beyond immediate or direct span of control
- Responsible for recruitment, retention, performance management, employee motivation, staff development and talent management. Develops next layer of key managers for the Company
- Working with Chief Product Officer and other leaders, formulates a coherent strategy for profitable growth that include strategic improvements to company products, product delivery, and supporting operations.
- Partners with Sales, Underwriting, CX, Marketing, Claims, Finance, MTS, HC and other internal departments to refine and execute strategy.
- Recognizes changes in the insurance landscape and prepares the company to meet evolving markets. This may be demonstrated by working with other groups to ensure the appropriate MTS infrastructure to meeting changing demands; evaluating and executing on new product opportunities and ensuring our products and product delivery adapt to the changing preferences of consumers and agency partners.
- Cordially and professionally interact with customers, vendors, superiors, subordinates, and peers.
- Regular attendance at work on a full-time schedule of at least 8 hours and 40 hours per week

Qualifications
Experience:
- Masters Degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 10+ years of product management experience position within the insurance industry
- 5+ years in a leadership capacity preferred
- Proven ability to develop relationships and drive results across various functions
- Proven ability to successfully formulate a coherent strategy for profitable growth that includes strategic improvements

- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate and persuade at all levels of management and thrive in a cross-functional environment.
- Must have proven leadership abilities, a track record in developing staff, and dedication to mentoring staff
- Requires independent problem solving, quantitative and analytical skills and ability to make data-driven decisions and highly complex decisions beyond the scope of established Company guidelines and parameters
- Able to build and maintain collaborative relationships across all levels and business units
- Excellent knowledge of Mercury operations in the Claims, Underwriting, Marketing and Technology Departments
- Ability to lead and influence others
- A positive and energetic attitude that has been demonstrated in current role
- Excellent organizational abilities as demonstrated by their ability to manage multiple priorities
- Service minded individual that places the needs of the team ahead of their own
- Knowledgeable of Excel and Word and able to quickly learn new technology
- Demonstrated record of innovation
