JOB SUMMARY:
This is a Tax Auditor III position in the General Tax Administration Program, Refunds and Revenue Accounting Process. The incumbent independently performs refund audits or assists with more complex refund audits of taxpayers conducting business in Florida. The incumbent also examines, analyzes, or interprets accounting records or investigates financial information for the purposes of giving advice or preparing statements or reports to ensure correct processing of refund claims by the Department. Additional responsibilities include training auditors, including assisting with on-the-job training and in training sessions.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Four years of accounting or auditing experience at a paraprofessional level.
- Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.
SUBSTITUTIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business with a minimum of three accounting courses, or two accounting courses and one tax course.
PREFERENCES:
- Experience performing sales and use tax audits with the Florida Department of Revenue's General Tax Administration Program.
- Experience working with the System for Unified Taxation (SUNTAX).
- Experience with researching Florida Statutes and Administrative Codes.
- Experience providing written and verbal customer service.

SALARY: The hiring salary for this position generally will not exceed $4,605.37 monthly/$55,264.44 annually.
