Job Description
Reaction Engines is committed to developing cutting-edge thermal management technology to enable breakthroughs in performance and sustainability in several high-tech sectors including aerospace, automotive, and energy. In pursuit of this goal, Reaction Engines has invested in its capability to perform high-temperature testing at its in-house Test Facility 2 (TF2).
The Lead Systems & Test Engineer will play a critical role in continuing the development of this site and our in-house capability to perform new and exciting test campaigns. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in several test-related skill sets including systems design and engineering, test equipment specification and development, verification and validation program development, test site operations, and test campaign development and execution.
The strongest candidates will combine these technical proficiencies with program management and leadership skills to ensure fulfillment of test program technical requirements and critical schedule milestones. The role will entail day-to-day management of test personnel and associated tasks in support of company objectives. We are seeking to grow our capability with this Lead Systems & Test Engineer role and support further development of our world-class test facility.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, or other equivalent field of discipline from an accredited institution
• Previous experience in systems design, test site operations, and test campaign execution
• Must comply with all applicable import and export control laws and regulations including, ITAR and EAR regulations.
• The ability to conform to U.S. Government space technology and advanced propulsion export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident of the U.S.
Desired Qualifications
• 7+ years of work experience in systems design, test site operations, and test campaign development/execution
• Familiarity with component selection, material selection, development of CONOPS, test procedures, and FMEA’s
• Understanding of federal and local safety, environmental, and construction standards and their conformant application to test site design and operations
• Experience with the development of mechanical and electrical systems
• Experience with advanced propulsion and fluid system design, including cryogenics
• Experience providing technical direction on engineering projects
• Experience tasking individual engineers with specific assignments
• Experience engaging with external parties and presenting technical information
• Experience in mentoring engineers and teaching technical skill sets
• Proficiency in assessing project resources and required skill sets
• Previous leadership experience supporting active programs
