About the role

Description

The School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS) at DePaul University is accepting applications from those interested in a part-time opportunity to teach an introduction to nutrition science course.

Topics include: An overview of the basic science of nutrition, with an emphasis on the relationship between disease and nutrition, and current research findings.

SCPS serves adult, non-traditional students, and underserved populations, and provides flexible learning formats and scheduling to meet student needs. The school offers a variety of majors including  Business Administration, Non-profit Management, and Leadership Studies. Students develop lifelong learning, writing, critical thinking, research and career development assessment and planning skills throughout their multi-disciplinary curriculum.

 

Qualifications

A master's degree, Ph.D. or terminal degree in a related field and relevant experience is required. Experience teaching at the college level is desirable, but not required.

Application Instructions

Part-time teaching opportunities are available including online, hybrid, and on-campus throughout the academic year. Applicants with expertise that matches course scheduling needs, demonstrated successful teaching experience, and appropriate, verified qualifications will be contacted for an interview. Academic course schedules fluctuate from quarter to quarter and the school will work with selected individuals to determine a quarterly schedule. Courses are not guaranteed; however, the school does its best to give ample notice about available courses and potential course cancellations. Online courses are taught using the Desire2Learn (D2L) learning management system.
