Your Impact
As a Senior Operations Engineer II, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our infrastructure. You'll solve complex technical problems, improve our systems through mindful automation, and work closely with cross-functional teams to support our services as they scale. Your work will have a direct impact on uptime, efficiency, and the overall developer experience—contributing to our mission to deliver high-quality mission critical systems at speed.
What You’ll Do
Location: Work from home as much as you want, live nearby any of our awesome US R&D Hubs (Seattle, Scottsdale, Atlanta, or Boston) so you can easily collab in-person when it’s helpful and be an active part of our vibrant Axon culture.

- Improving CI/CD pipelines to ensure fast and reliable code delivery.
- Writing, reviewing, and deploying infrastructure-as-code to support scalable deployments.
- Monitoring system performance and proactively addressing issues before they impact users.
- Responding to operational incidents, identifying root causes, and implementing long-term fixes.
- Collaborating with developers to develop new features, services, and infrastructure requirements.
- Enhancing logging, metrics, and monitoring to improve system observability.
- Reviewing system alerts and tuning thresholds to reduce noise and increase actionable signals.
- Developing and updating runbooks, documentation, or internal tooling to support operational efficiency.
- Build and maintain reliable, scalable infrastructure that supports our core services.
- Troubleshoot and address complex operational and system-level issues across environments.
- Enhance deployment workflows and pipelines to streamline development and reduce downtime.
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of robust security architecture and infrastructure, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and compliance standards.
- Participate in the on-call rotation, incident response, and postmortem processes with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with SRE, and Engineers in other Pillars to ensure infrastructure meets the needs of fast-moving development cycles.
- Contribute to infrastructure-as-code and automation efforts to improve consistency and reduce manual operations.
- Stay current with industry trends and evaluate new tools to improve system performance and operational efficiency.
- Document systems, processes, and best practices for internal knowledge sharing.
What You Bring
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a security operations or incident response role.
- Previous engineering experience building solutions to solve complex security problems.
- Substantial experience with building and implementing detection rules, use cases, and automation workflows.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation languages such as Python, Powershell, or similar.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
