General Description/Primary Purpose:

The Department of Physical Therapy is seeking a 12-month, non-tenure-earning, Clinical Assistant Professor in the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program. Position responsibilities include teaching, service, and scholarship. This is a teaching intensive position. Teaching assignments will be aligned with the candidate’s areas of clinical expertise and departmental needs and will primarily involve integrated lecture and lab courses across all three years of the curriculum. The successful candidate may also serve as a preceptor for students on clinical rotations, providing academic oversight and support during off-site clinical experiences.

 

Supervisor: This position will report to the Department Chair.

 

Working Hours: Varies

 

Supervision Exercised: This is not a supervisory role.

 

Required Licensure: Current physical therapy license or eligibility for licensure in the state of Florida.

 

Anticipated Start Date: The position is expected to begin on August 3, 2026.

Preferred Qualifications / Skills:

  • ABPTS Board Certification

  • Graduation from an ABPTRFE-accredited residency and/or fellowship program

  • Evidence of scholarly activity

  • Active involvement in professional organizations at the state or national level

  • Curriculum development experience within a DPT program, including responsibility for leading or co-leading course design and implementation

  • Clinical experience across multiple settings, or deeper expertise in one or more of the following areas: Lymphedema, burns, pain; medically complex patients; adult neurology; critical/acute care; pharmacology; pathology

  • APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor & experience serving as a clinical instructor
