Job Description

As a Chromatographic Data Software (CDS) Specialist, you will provide Empower (Waters) technical support in a GMP regulated environment. You will focus on the automation of processing data from a HPLC analysis. Using your knowledge about laboratory work you will deep-dive into the calculations of a wide variety of HPLC analyses, by designing custom fields in the software. With the help of your team with experienced data reviewers, you will validate your calculations and improve our data processing and data reviewing processes.

You will be responsible for: 

- Translation of HPLC methods into custom fields to automate the calculations within Empower 3;

- Responsible for maintaining and updating all Empower related GMP documentation;

- Giving training of Technicians, Data Reviewers and Scientists in the correct use of Empower;

- Creation of clear Empower reports and implement procedures/ process to create / request new ones;

- Validation of the calculations in custom fields in consultation with Analytical Data Reviewer;

- First contact point for Empower issues and consult with operations and VCM team for LACE related issues;

- Develop other efficiency data processing initiatives for a diverse range of chromatography methods (HPLC, GC, LC-MS, GC-MS);

- Stay up-to-date on new functionalities within Empower and their roll-out according to GMP standards.

In the future you could also be responsible for similar tasks with other software packages, such as Chromeleon and Open Lab. 

Qualifications

We are looking for an enthusiastic starter with a relevant bachelor's or master's degree and a good basic knowledge of chromatography testing or an experienced candidate with a background as a software specialist in a laboratory environment.

• Bachelor or master degree in Life Sciences, Computer Science, or at least 5 years of relevant working experience in the Pharmaceutical sector;
• Experience with Empower 3 and thorough technical knowledge is a plus;
• Experience / affinity with HPLC is required;
• Affinity with other chromatography test methods is a plus, such as GC, LC-MS, GC-MS;
• Experience with custom fields and reports creation in Empower 3 is a plus;
• Experience in the pharmaceutical sector and affinity with GMP or GLP is considered a plus;
• Good understanding of the English language (spoken and written).
