Offering employment and vocational services, nutritionally assisted substance use disorder treatment, recovery housing, and job readiness training and placement, our team can help individuals overcome barriers to success.


The purpose of this position is to provide peer support services to clients engaged with our supportive services and reintegrating into the community. Will represent FlyingHIGH, Inc. and serve as liaison to Mahoning County Drug Court, CCA, and Mahoning County Jail. The position will improve recovery and reintegration outcomes by providing guidance, support and accountability to clients and families in recovery.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help clients navigate public & private social service systems, connect to & access resources, and find & walk out their path to recovery to help prevent substance use disorder relapse or recidivism by client.
  • Role-models the skills necessary to successfully manage recovery.
  • Provide face to face contact/interaction with clients every 14 days (max) for first 90 days then at least one face to face contacts every 30 days (max) for next 90 days and thereafter. Phone contact required twice monthly.
  • Assist clients in developing life plans/goals (spiritual, education, career, social, and recovery).
  • Connect clients to Flying HIGH Inc.’s services and community services as needed.
  • Document all contacts with clients with case notes and maintain organized and throughout case files.
  • Conduct regular client drug screens.
  • Attend staff meetings and provide updates to program partners regarding client utilization of services.
  • Provide transportation to clients as permitted by management.
  • Adjust approaches and work schedule to meet client needs - this may include nights and weekends.
  • Assist in public relation efforts related to the program.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with all program rules, regulations, policies & procedures.
  • Prepare Active Client Lists, which document client contacts, and outcome reports.
  • Attend required training each year as set forth by management.

Requirements

  • HSD/GED equivalent and Ohio Peer Recovery Support Certification
  • Knowledge of 12 step community and other recovery-oriented supports/resources;
  • Valid Ohio driver's license, clean driving record, and proof of auto insurance
