About the role

Overview

The Sorenson Legacy Foundation Center for Clinical Excellence is hiring a part-time Physical Therapist who will provide physical therapy services with a focus on hippotherapy services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based PT services utilizing the horse as a modality (hippotherapy) with a focus of providing physical therapy services for pediatric population and some adults
  • As needed, work with other professionals in the Sorenson Center, USU Extension and the IDRPP  to provide integrated care to clients

Qualifications

  • A graduate degree in Physical Therapy from an institution accredited by CAPTE
  • A current Utah Physical Therapy license
  • Completion of American Hippotherapy Association Certified Level 1 and Level 2 courses
  • Certified through the American Hippotherapy Association to provide Hippotherapy as a licensed physical therapist
  • 3-5 years of experience providing hippotherapy services
  • 3-5 years of experience providing pediatric physical therapy services
  • Experience providing physical therapy services to adults with neuromuscular impairments
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms

    Advertised Salary

    $55 per hour, depending on experience

    Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes.  This position requires moderate physical activity, including the handling of objects up to 25 pounds and/or standing or walking more than one hour per day.
