Cleveland Clinic is seeking a strategic, dedicated and experienced leader to serve as Director of Workplace Violence and Caregiver Injury Prevention. Cleveland Clinic's vision is to be the healthcare leader in workplace violence prevention to ensure the safety of our caregivers. The leader in this role will be responsible for creating Cleveland Clinic's first Center for Workplace Violence and Caregiver Injury Prevention Center.
The Director supports the Cleveland Clinic Enterprise (Ohio, Florida, and Nevada), in providing a safe and healthy workplace through workplace violence prevention (WVP) initiatives. You will execute the strategy and goals of the Cleveland Clinic Executive Team and enterprise leaders to reduce the frequency and severity of workplace violence (WPV) events. You will feel supported by other innovative leaders who encourage big ideas, ask why, and support innovation and creative thinking.
A caregiver in this position works 8:00am—4:30pm. This position is Hybrid between CC Administrative Campus and Main Campus
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Know, understand, incorporate, and demonstrate Cleveland Clinic’s Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal regulations and guidelines (e.g., OSHA, CDC, NIOSH, and Joint Commission), applicable state laws, and professional guidelines that relate to WVP and related safety initiatives.
Lead in identifying and executing safe workplace practices, with an initial focus on reducing WPV events and any associated injuries, consistent with the strategic objectives of enterprise leaders.
Lead the development, implementation and update of consistent plans and practices that reduce the number and/or severity of WPV events.
Perform and report on strategic analysis of enterprise-wide WVP policies, programs, and practices.
Create and present an annual report on outcomes and progress related to the enterprise WVP program.
Lead risk assessment and needs assessment methodologies, survey tools, organizational performance analysis, with input from leaders, supervising managers, and frontline caregivers.
Identify and incorporate best practices, innovations, and lessons learned throughout the enterprise into training efforts.
Lead data collection and analyses to demonstrate effectiveness of current WPV efforts, including engineering and administrative controls, and expanded educational offerings.
