Job Description Summary

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Library Circulation Assistant provides basic support to the circulation manager and other library staff. Library Circulation Assistants are responsible for charging and discharging materials, sorting and shelving library materials. This position also provides customer service to library patrons.

The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of the job:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Shelves and organizes library materials.
• Conducts shelf reads and monitors library collections.
• Assists with charging and discharging materials.
• Assists library patrons.
• Provides clerical support.
• Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Must have good customer service skills.
• Must be reliable, punctual and able to follow through on assignments.
• Must have good organization skills.
• Must have good attention to detail.

Available hours include weekends, weekday afternoons and weekday evenings.
