In this role, the Medical Assistant II supports physicians, nurses, and clinical staff through hands-on patient care, phlebotomy and lab services, clinic coordination, and administrative support. The position blends direct client interaction with clinical and organizational responsibilities, ensuring safe, timely, and high-quality care delivery across outpatient and residential settings.

Key Responsibilities:
· Support physicians and nursing staff by assisting with patient care, examinations, and treatments
· Prepare and room clients by verifying medical history, collecting vital signs, and ensuring readiness for appointments
· Perform phlebotomy, injections, and laboratory testing while communicating results to providers and nursing staff
· Maintain a welcoming clinic environment by assisting with client check-in, answering questions, and providing service information
· Coordinate appointment scheduling, prior authorizations, chart management, and clinic injection calendars
· Prepare, clean, and stock exam rooms, lab areas, and medication rooms, including inventory management and temperature logs
· Accompany individuals to medical appointments and advocate for their rights and continuity of care
· Communicate with physicians, pharmacies, specialists, and internal teams regarding medical needs and follow-up
· Conduct health and medical reviews as directed and support discharge planning and hospital coordination
· Travel to residential locations as assigned and provide direct support to medically involved individuals when needed
· Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with organizational policies
· Participate in required meetings and perform additional duties as assigned by nursing leadership
Education and/or Experience Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent required
· Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the applicable state
· One year of experience in a physician office or clinical setting preferred
· Phlebotomy training and prior laboratory experience preferred
· CPR certification preferred
Additional Qualifications:
· Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and current auto insurance
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to safeguarding protocols
· Strong verbal and written communication skills across in-person, phone, and virtual platforms
· Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds
· Capacity to follow instructions, accept supervision, and adapt in a fast-paced clinical environment
· Successful completion of background checks including criminal, driving, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint screening
Physical Requirements
· Ability to perform sedentary work, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally
· Repetitive use of hands, fingers, and arms for typing, writing, and clinical tasks
· Ability to sit for extended periods with occasional walking or standing as needed
