Long Term Substitute School Support Nurse - 2026-2027 School Year

The Mt. Lebanon School District is seeking applicants for the position of Long Term Substitute School Support Nurse at Jefferson Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year.

The school support nurse assists the certified school nurse in the daily operations of the school health office, provides health office coverage in the school nurse's absence, and provides direct assistance to students, staff, and families.

This is a part-time, on-site, temporary position working 7 hours per day (plus a 30 minute unpaid lunch) 3 days per week as scheduled by the Health Services Department. 

The start date for this assignment is August 12, 2026, through June 3, 2027.

Qualifications:

• Active PA licensed Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse
• Active CPR Certification
• Graduate of an approved nursing program
• Operational knowledge of relevant technologies, including computers, mobile and hand-held devices, and medical office equipment
• Pediatric and/or medical surgical nursing experience preferred

Rates based on credential:

• RN $18.27 per hour ($127 daily rate)
• LPN $17.27 per hour ($120 daily rate)

There are no benefits or paid time off associated with this substitute placement.

ADDITIONAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
In order to be eligible for employment, the following clearances must be furnished and approved for hire at time of job offer:

• Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151)
• Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check (Act 34)
• FBI Federal Criminal History Record (Act 114)

The following additional trainings and forms are required upon hire:

• Act 126 Child/Student Abuse Recognition and Reporting
• Arrest or Conviction Form (PDE 6004) (Act 24)
• School Personnel Health Record (Physical with TB Test)
• Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Information (Act 168)
