POSITION TITLE: Production Manager

LOCATION:  Food Production Center

STATUS:  Classified – Non-Exempt, Full Time

CALENDAR:  195 days/year

HOURLY PAY: $19.50


 

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

This position is responsible for projecting elementary school meal counts; processing all elementary Field Trip Lunch Cancelations and Sack Lunches as requested; processing Pizza Party requests, collaborating with Menu Committee on elementary, Early Childhood and Contract school menus; providing support as needed for the production floor Dish Room and Laundry Room staff. This Position at Food Services reports to the Operations Supervisor.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Independently projects elementary breakfast and lunch counts. This is the first step in planning production for school lunches.

 ·         Works closely with Production Manager for the production floor on inputting amounts for meals and making changes for cancelations form café staff.

 ·         Makes changes as they occur for field trips, sack lunch and pizza party requests; enters changes in Primero computer software.

 ·         Records daily lunch counts in Excel spreadsheets for elementary schools from Primero POS and Production Records for future breakfast and lunch projections.

 ·         Liaison for Contract Schools for assisting with Add-ons and any questions or concerns from staff; emails monthly menus; generates Excel spreadsheets for monthly Food billing purposes.

 ·         Organizes the Field Day Sack Lunches with elementary school lunch aides and enters changes in software. Provides elementary projections for Purchasing Supervisor.

 ·         Acts as contact person for sack lunch requests, pizza party requests from elementary schools; schedules those changes in the computer; provides support for elementary schools for all-school menu changes for special events which occur during lunch.

 ·         Collaborates with Menu Committee to determine elementary lunch menus.

 ·         Creates forms and labels as needed and requested by Production floor staff.

 ·         Orders First Aide supplies for the Food Production Center from Health Services and provides First Aide for staff.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

·         High School diploma or equivalent

·         Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel-including formulas)

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

·         Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills with attention to detail

·         Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously

·         Ability to perform basic math calculations including fractions and precents

·         Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment with interruptions

·         Ability to work with a wide diversity of individuals

·         Ability to notice areas of concern and make recommendations for improvement

·         High degree of motivation, responsibility, and confidentiality

·         Knowledge of safety and sanitation practices and procedures

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMEMTS:

This position requires the performance of light work, occasionally lifting 20 pounds, carrying, pushing, pulling, and significant finger dexterity for keyboard use.
