About the role

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, field-based Technical Services Veterinarian – Swine to join our Swine business unit. The successful candidate will partner closely with our sales and marketing teams and with key customers to support modern swine production through technical expertise, field support, and post-approval research.

This is a field-based role within the Midwest region with an expectation of 50–60% travel to internal and external meetings, field investigations, and assigned swine business projects.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support & Presentations

  • Provide technical support for our swine product portfolio to both internal and external customers.

  • Deliver technical presentations, including sales force training, and support implementation of products and services at the customer level.

  • Address product-related questions and manage technical discussions around adverse events with key customers.

Field Research & Investigations

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute post-approval field research trials in modern swine production systems.

  • Conduct field investigations in collaboration with sales and other internal stakeholders to identify customer needs and provide data-driven recommendations.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with sales professionals to identify customer needs and opportunities for technical engagement.

  • Collaborate with marketing on key business initiatives, providing scientific and practical input to support product positioning and customer value.

  • Contribute to cross-functional projects within the Swine business unit as assigned.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills

Education & Licensure

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) required.

  • Current veterinary license in at least one U.S. state is mandatory.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in veterinary medicine with a focus on swine production.

  • Experience in a Technical Services role or a commensurate veterinary position supporting modern swine production systems.

  • Demonstrated familiarity with modern swine production systems (e.g., large integrated systems, herd health programs, production metrics).

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical information into practical solutions for diverse audiences.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility with customers and internal teams.

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and the capability to influence without direct authority.

  • Proven ability to work independently as a self-starter while thriving in a team-oriented environment.

  • Comfortable with 50–60% travel for meetings, field work, and business projects.
