POSITION SUMMARY:
Crinetics Pharmaceuticals is currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Shipping and Receiving Associate to join our team. This individual will support the Facilities Department and be responsible for overseeing shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accurate inventory management, coordinating logistics, and maintaining compliance with company policies and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in shipping and receiving within a biotech or high-tech industry and possess strong problem-solving skills to proactively address logistical challenges.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
These may include but are not limited to:
- Evaluate current inventory and material lead times, including analysis of delivery conditions, to ensure that materials will be available for corresponding activities.
- Verify incoming receiving against the Purchase Order, and notate any discrepancies or damages.
- Follow special handling instructions such as cold storage temperature requirements, as outlined by raw material sheet or vendor requirements.
- Use FedEx Ship Manager software (or similar) to ship parcel packages to customers.
- Prepare shipping documentation such as packing lists, air waybills, etc.
- Utilize purchasing systems and procedures to ensure compliance to company authorizations, policies, and procedures with respect to the purchasing function.
- Assemble packages to be shipped to include proper labeling and documentation as needed.
- Respond to and process incoming deliveries for distribution, utilizing company resources and supplied software applications.
- Provide timely delivery tracking information to company personnel as needed
- Maintain database of supplies and documentation shipped and received.
- Process all incoming and outgoing packages using online shipping and receiving applications.
- Proactively communicate, plan, and implement process improvement solutions in conjunction with the Facilities Operations team.
- Maintain stock of consumable items and control inventory levels and budgets
- Comply with all safety regulations and current Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs)
- Provide tactical support to the Facilities team and Purchasing department as necessary
- Properly documents and files/maintains all records regarding Shipping/Receiving operations
- Develop and document Shipping/ Receiving SOP and best practices.
- Organize and distribute all incoming deliveries to intended recipient in a timely manner
- Assist with mail processing as workload dictates
- Provide shipping and receiving reporting to management
- Support company functions, vendors, visitors, etc. as required
- Maintain a secure, safe & clean work environment
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- High school diploma and a minimum 3 years’ experience in Shipping and Receiving or related work within the biotech and or similar high-tech industry
- Experience working with online shipping applications, tools and responding to employee requests
- Familiar with DOT shipping hazardous materials and Federal Hazardous material regulations
- Familiar with IATA shipping hazardous materials
- Familiar with OSHA safe work practices and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
- Familiar with HAZWOPER practices, Operations and Emergency Response
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment and is skilled at multi-tasking
- Experience with scheduling and managing vendors
- Ability to perform required functions independently
- A track record of high quality, successful projects
- Strong understanding of basic hand tools
- Reliable and meets deadlines
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Able to respond to emergency notifications via phone, email, text. BMS, Etc.
