Senior Backend Engineer

⚡️Your role

Fastned is a pioneer in a completely new industry, aiming to accelerate the transition towards sustainable mobility by giving freedom to electric drivers. As a Backend Engineer at Fastned you will actively contribute to accelerating the transition to sustainable mobility through developing and implementing the best in class business critical features for our proprietary back office platform called Revolt. A platform that our team and EV drivers rely on every day! 

With your exemplary in-depth knowledge of Kotlin and/or Java, Spring Boot (Micro Services), AWS, Kubernetes, SQL, CI/CD and Rest APIs you are fully equipped to create the most scalable high availability services that ensure our customers can charge at any time.

This role is part of the Product and Software Engineering scrum team consisting of fellow Backend Engineers, Frontend Engineers, a Scrum Master, Product Owner and Product Designer. You will play as a key sparring partner for the Backend Engineers, developing solutions together with them to drive the success of our applications to new heights.

⚡️Your overall responsibilities include

• Handling the design, development, testing and review of reusable, maintainable and scalable code for the Fastned Revolt platform and infrastructure;

• Working closely with the Tech Leads to define feature requirements to deliver a product that materially impacts the business and improves the customer experience;

• Interacting with your team to construct sprint planning to agree on technical direction and overseeing technical development from ideation to deployment;

• Assisting the team in improving development methodologies and applying best practice patterns;

• You'll be the driving force behind all back-end activities in order to help all EV-drivers have a great charging experience!

• You demonstrate great communication skills and love working in a team. Proficiency in English is mandatory for this role;

• You have 3+ years of professional experience with Kotlin and/or Java;

• You have worked with AWS or other cloud platforms;

• It's a big plus if you are familiar with Maven, Spring Boot and Postgres or some equivalent;

• Experienced with building micro services using RESTful web services;

• You have a strong affinity with the energy transition and Fastned’s mission;
