The Position:

 

You will be based in Plainsboro, NJ as a member of the Cloud and Corporate Infrastructure (C&CI) area, part of Global IT Operations (GITO). The position is hybrid with the expectation of 3 days per week in office and 2 days remote. As a Cloud Engineer for the FileShare and Backup service, you will be primarily responsible the operational support of the backup infrastructure, fileshare services and storage management. This would include interacting with service providers and product vendors and well as internal Novo Nordisk colleagues. You will also work closely with the Principal Architect on matters of technical roadmap, evaluating the future state of the technology, continuous service improvements and automation.

 

Relationships:

This position reports to the Manager, NAO Infrastructure and will collaborate closely with members of the North America Operations team and C&CI colleagues in DK and India. Additional internal stakeholders include IT System Managers, Global Security Organization, C&CI for Infrastructure, Network, Security, Application, and user related activities. External stakeholders include service providers for support of hosted infrastructure, including Accenture and NNIT. The role will liaison for other Cloud initiatives as needed across C&CI.

• • Ensures that stakeholders’ requirements are identified and met, commitments are delivered upon and that stakeholders receive quality support services

Develops and Maintains Systems, Applications and Infrastructure:

• • Monitors system performance and capacity of cloud and on-premises environments to proactively avoid issues and work towards continuous improvement
  • Recommends, evaluates, and implements new technologies to ensure efficacy and alignment with current and long-term business goals
  • Champions best practices within functional area to enhance IT solutions and improve processes and results
  • Implement and support hardware and software infrastructure using the following service models: Public Cloud, on-premises, co-location data center, managed service, SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, DaaS, and hybrid implementations
  • Work with team members to automate engineering tasks, streamline processes and perform standard administration functions as needed
  • Provides Tier 2 operational support for hardware and software problems associated with Cloud Data Center systems architecture and its components
  • Follows IT security best practices, policies, and procedures in support of IT security programs
  • Manages changes, upgrades, and the introduction of new technologies to the production environment
