About the role
VFX Department Internship role will be working with the multiple Amazon VFX Executives and VFX support teams as they engage on all levels of VFX execution for Amazon's many Series and AOM's in production. This includes visibility into work done by bidding producer at pre green light stage to initial map out VFX needs for a project. They will also have exposure to finalizing the initial bids, assisting in the gathering of VFX candidates info for key roles, and be privy to vendor selections. Intern will also give support to all the internal VFX teams as they arise in execution and tracking of all facets of the VFX disciplines on Amazon projects.
Key job responsibilities
• Assist with building and updating Global Visual Effects workflow manuals including, but not limited to, assessing core strengths of each Visual Effects facility around the world and updating VFX show wrap guidelines.
• Track VFX digital asset delivery schedules and ensure VFX archive storage & various related documents are up to date for publish.
• Support the Global Visual Effects team on both series & movies in all stages as needed, and assist on key initiatives on the Virtual Production side as well.
• Join key production calls and/or VFX vendor calls to gain insight into both internal and external Amazon VFX workflows.
About the team
The Amazon VFX team is made up of VFX professionals with multiple decades of experience in delivering VFX for all types of projects, budgets sizes and content narratives that are directly or indirectly supported by visual effects.
• Candidates must be active students during the time of their internship. A student is characterized by: any candidate currently enrolled in an accredited degree program, including Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD, Associate, certificates, and diplomas.
•Ability to handle a fast paced environment overseeing several projects in various points of production (from development through delivery).
•Strong organizational skills with a proactive, detail-oriented mentality and a strong problem solver.
•Team-player who operates efficiently in a fast paced team-oriented setting.
•Passion for all things VFX, the influence of VFX on the narrative and the impact it can have.
•Basic knowledge of digital audio and video file formats; and a technical understanding of the visual effects process.
•Any working knowledge of VFX disciplines that make up a VFX workflow.
•Any working knowledge of outside VFX and Virtual Production facilities.
•Passionate about Amazons Culture and Leadership Principles in the workplace.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $16.83/hr in our lowest geographic market up to $40.43/hr in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Preferred Qualifications
•A love of data and efficiency through using technology to solve problems. Ideally but not required to have familiarity with production and post software such as Shotgun, FileMaker, PIX, RV, Tableau, and newer platforms such as Google Suite, Cinesync, and Moxion is a big plus.•Basic knowledge of digital audio and video file formats; and a technical understanding of the visual effects process.
