We are looking for a Junior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our team and support our infrastructure while developing expertise in DevOps and SRE best practices. If you are eager to learn and contribute to maintaining and improving our systems, apply today! 

ABOUT THE ROLE 

  • Develop a deep understanding of at least one component of the infrastructure architecture.
  • Learn and apply Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
  • Provide Level 1 on-call support for designated areas of infrastructure.
  • Monitor systems for issues, respond to alerts, and escalate as needed.
  • Maintain and update Jira tickets with accurate and current status.
  • Assist in maintaining and improving infrastructure reliability and performance.
  • Work on well-defined sub-tasks and complete them within estimated timelines.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and proactively seek guidance when needed.
  • Participate in incident response and resolution efforts. 

NOTE:  

  • This is a hybrid position and several days each week will be required onsite at our Austin, Texas headquarters.
  • Sponsorship is not available for this position

ABOUT YOU 

  • 1-2 years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure-related role.
  • Basic programming skills in Golang, Python, Javascript and Node.js.
  • Strong experience with Linux administration.
  • Experience with containers and container orchestration tools, such as Docker, Fargate, and ECS
  • Fundamental knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
  • Broad understanding of DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, and CI/CD concepts.
  • Familiarity with observability, monitoring tools and logging systems such as Datadog.
  • Associate SysOps Administrator certification or equivalent experience.
  • Basic understanding of and hands-on experience with AWS services.
  • Ability to work with Jira for tracking tasks and reporting progress.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong desire to constantly learn and grow
  • Ability to successfully work as part of a distributed team. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience working with automation tools like Terraform and GitHub Actions
  • Familiarity with cloud networking and security best practices.
  • Familiarity with API Gateway, Lambda, Elastic Container Service, Postgres, DynamoDB, OpenSeach, Redis, and/or Memcached and other AWS Services.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
