About the role
Meta is looking for an Internal Communications Manager to support the Reality Labs organization. This role is part of the Internal Communications team and it is an individual contributor position. This person will be responsible for developing and executing internal communications strategies for an innovative, global organization.
This person will craft internal narratives and strategies that keep Reality Labs teams informed, inspired, and connected to their work and to the company. They will work with leaders, other communications teams, and many cross-functional partners to articulate organization-wide strategy, build confidence and trust in leadership, and rally employees around the organization's ambitious goals.
Candidates should be passionate about the services Meta provides, the innovative technology we are building, and the people we serve. Candidates must have an understanding of internal communication methodologies, including change communication, executive communications, measurement and analysis, and hybrid event production. Effective writing and editing skills are essential—specifically, the capacity to communicate complex, technical concepts to diverse audiences in a clear and concise manner via written and video communications.

- Develop and execute communication initiatives for the Reality Labs organization.
- Partner with leaders, other communications teams, and many cross-functional partners to deliver internal communication programs and change management initiatives.
- Provide proactive and reactive messaging that supports initiatives/launches and program rollouts.
- Understand the unique needs of product, engineering, and business teams (goals, products, tools, process) in order to produce effective and relevant communication strategies.
- Write and develop messaging around various topics, including organizational and company strategy, priorities, product launches and announcements.
- Identify opportunities to share organization milestones with the company.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement consistent messaging across the organization.
- Manage internal forums (Workplace Groups) and internal org events (All Hands
- Q&As) which include creating narrative themes, developing executive messaging, and consulting on other speakers’ content.
- Implement data measurement and analysis strategies to guide communications best practices.
- Bachelor's degree and 10+ years professional experience working in internal communications or comparable experience within communications.
- Minimum 3 years of dedicated internal communications experience.
- Experience counseling and influencing executives.
- Experience producing content for internal audiences at varying levels across an organization.
- Experience writing and turning complex information into relevant, engaging, timely and valuable content.
- Experience with managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience communicating to an employee population of technologists and engineers.
- Experience in solving problems using judgment, data measurement, and analysis, providing practical, timely and effective communications guidance and support.
- Experience in public relations, journalism, branding and campaigns.
- Experience in the technology industry.
- Experience leading internal communications for a globally distributed and hybrid workforce (remote and in-person).
