Our Corporate office in Livonia, Michigan is currently seeking a Director of Engineering to join our team. The essential function of this role is leading the Engineering and Maintenance functions for the company, directing all engineering services to support all functions and facilities in the Company. Also ensuring execution of a maintenance management program with focus on preventative and predictive maintenance.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Design strategies for future development projects based on the company’s overall objectives and resources
- Develop and manage execution of short term and long term (5 year) capital plan
- Manage annual capital budget
- Manage large projects end-to-end
- Serve as the gatekeeper for all engineering drawing of all equipment, layout and building
- Providing process flow documents, SOPs, work instructions to ensure concepts align with operations needs and required flexibility
- Own the CMMS program across the network
- Monitor reliability and performance of key equipment
- Drive automation across the network to reduce touches and manual work
- Upgrading or deactivating existing automation systems
- Implement innovative technologies
Education/Background Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Engineering required.
- Minimum of 10 years of related work experience required
- Strong background in process improvement, problem-solving skills and strong program management skills.
- Understanding of organizational change management
- Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Requires a thorough understanding of all aspects of plant maintenance, and a good working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, PLC, and refrigeration
- Proficient in CAD
- Able to identify key issues; creatively and strategically overcome internal challenges or obstacles
- Highly proficient in computer-use skills (MS Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Working Conditions:
- Combination of office (60%) and refrigerated warehouse (40%) environment
- Must be capable of lifting up to 30 lbs
- Travel between distribution centers required (10%), domestic and international (Canada)
