Position Specific Description
1. Lead monitoring crews in the field and work directly with the current program project manager to meet compliance requirements 2. Conduct groundwater and surface water field monitoring in accordance with county, state, and federal guidelines 3. Conduct ecological monitoring in marsh areas surrounding the Turkey Point Clean Energy Center 4. Perform in-field activities and maintenance duties for compliance with the environmental monitoring program including: 5. Perform detailed calibrations and maintenance activities of on-site equipment including: 6. Perform basic statistical analyses of collected and automated data 7. Data mining, retrieval, and database management related to various projects
8. Support project manager in compiling operating reports as needed
9. Detailed record keeping and generation of order requests for any materials related to field and lab needs
Ideal candidate will have:
• Experience with monitoring groundwater and surface water using multiple sampling techniques and applications
• Experience working in the field in extreme weather conditions including high humidity and hot temperatures
• Prior field technician or laboratory experience
• Strong knowledge of environmental field equipment maintenance and calibration
• Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, more specifically Excel and Word functions
• Knowledge of South Florida ecosystems and hydrology
Work location and hours
• The position will be located at Turkey Point Clean Energy Center in Homestead, Florida.
• Travel to and from the work location will be the responsibility of the employee
• The typical work schedule is Mon-Thurs, 7 am to 5 pm but may be subject to vary during off-normal periods

Employees in this job support environmental staff in obtaining environmental approvals, licenses and permits for construction and operation of new and existing NextEra, Inc. facilities from Federal, State and Regional agencies.

• Supports environmental aspects of company operations, such as, compliance, reporting, monitoring, remediation, and environmental permitting functions
• Monitors and analyzes environmental policies and regulations that affect the company and its customers
• Provides the necessary support to staff to resolve environmental matters
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
