Reporting to the Regional Brand Controller, North America and based out of our office in New York*, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in retail financial and operational management to help shape the future growth of COS, build brand awareness, and elevate our customer experience, contributing to our ambition to establish COS as a Sustainable International Power Brand in North America.

The  Retail Finance Manager, or Retail Controller as the role is known internally, will serve as a strategic partner to the Regional Sales Manager and Regional Brand Controller. The Retail Controller will drive the Region's financial store channel development collaborating with the Area Sales team, securing sustainable growth and profitability. The Retail Controller will also create, implement, and follow up operational strategies to improve current business, as well as identify future business opportunities.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities includes but is not limited to**

  • Responsible for creating, implementing, and following up on financial operational strategies for physical stores in your region, based on the global strategy​.
  • Maximize profit level of the region by developing and accomplishing opportunities, driving change to develop the brand​.
  • Contribute to a people first working environment, supporting actions based on annual HR goals​.
  • Deliver financial analyses, reports, and follow-ups to detect future business needs​.
  • Set targets and seek opportunities for sales increase and improve profitability for store channel, supporting and following up financial, operational, and commercial results​.
  • Follow up to secure planning accuracy, service level, and efficiency in accordance with yearly, monthly and weekly budgets and company goals​.
  • Oversee the expected financial outcome, analyse reasons and deviations and secure that the budgeted profit of store channel in your region is achieved and reported according to H&M group standards​.
  • Ensure commitment for selling and cost budget (weekly, monthly, quarterly) for store channels within the region​.
  • Support the development of the Area Sales Teams together with the Regional Brand Controller to grow the business, guiding through the controlling related aspects and working with talent management to secure succession planning​.
  • Support and educate the Stores teams alongside the Area Managers in aligning sales planning and scheduling with the aim to improve efficiency and customer experience​.
  • Work on appropriate staffing, recruitment, and trainings with HR to secure operations and customer experience strategy​.
  • Collaborate with the Merchandising team and Area managers to coach Store Teams on driving commerciality and selling, as well as limiting reduction costs in physical stores​.
  • Co-operate with Regional E-Commerce Team to implement multi-channel operational strategies​.
  • Secure--in collaboration with local account departments--that cost bookings and invoice handling is correctly handled in line with the budget​.
  • Collaborate and network with all departments in the central COS organisation relevant for Store channels, as well as the H&M group to optimise and develop the business​.

  • 2-4 years of retail leadership or people management, preferably in multi-unit retail management
  • 3 – 5 years in a business analyst or finance role for a retail company preferred
  • Strong commitment and experience
