As Automotive Lead Journey Mechanic, you will oversee mechanical functions in the maintenance shop.
Essential Duties
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible journey-level experience in vehicle maintenance including mechanical repair on diesel- or gas-powered equipment.
- Possession of a complete set of heavy equipment Journey Level tools and a roll away toolbox.
- Must have or be able to obtain within 90 days of hire, a Washington State driver's license and a CDL license with passenger endorsement and air brake restriction removed.
- Must be able to work any shift assigned to meet the needs of the agency, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must pass a pre-employment physical examination and drug screen.
An equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the job duties is also accepted.
Knowledge Requirements
- Principles, practices, materials, and operating procedures for vehicle maintenance and inspections.
- Operation and maintenance functions of light to medium duty gas or diesel equipment.
- Computerized diagnostic equipment.
- Health and safety hazards, precautions, and proper use of safety equipment.
- Basic computer skills.
