Production Tooling Specialist

In our Miamisburg, Ohio location, our teams work to produce an extensive line of stock and custom labels, tickets and tags, printers and other related products for some of the largest organizations in logistics, food and retail.

The Team Member We're Looking For...
We are looking to add a member to our 3rd shift team! In this role, you will have the opportunity to carry out production tooling processes in support of supplies production manufacturing. Tooling processes include cataloging, organizing and performing general maintenance of the punch, die and rotary tooling on all production machinery/equipment, Maintaining ancillary equipment, performing knife sharpening, performing set-up and building, and expediting tooling repair.
In the course of your work, you would get to work and interact with a number of people like your teammates, your group leader, your manager and people from other departments like Quality and Warehouse.
During the course of your day, some of the things you'd be doing include:
Maintaining punch, die and rotary tooling, knife units and/or ancillary equipment in press ready state.
- Performing inspection and proofing of incoming tooling/equipment; determining if tooling/equipment adheres to specifications; expediting corrective action through vendors and/or management when not within specifications.
- Cleans, inspects and determines repair or replacement requirements: identifies corrective actions for repair requirements.
- Using precision measurement equipment verifying conformance of parts to blueprints and sketches.
- Expediting and scheduling repair.
- Making repairs on rotary tooling (e.g., replacing gears and bearings)
- Setting up and operating die sharpening machine and sharpens tooling and rotary dies.
- Peening or replacing punches.
- Sharpening or replacing dies.
- Operating vertical milling machinery, drill presses and surface grinders to maintain tooling/parts in press ready state.
- Building knife units per specifications and assisting with complex slitter changeovers.
