Airport Site Supervisor (2nd Shift - Janitorial Experience Required)

We looking to hire a Custodian Supervisor with janitorial experience to our team. Responsible for assisting in the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of staff engaged in cleaning and maintaining the site premises by performing the following duties personally or through janitorial staff. Fulfills management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Qualifications:

• Ability to designate shift and area of work assignments for custodians and lead personnel; conduct training.
• Thorough knowledge of the standard methods, equipment, and supplies in a large- or small-scale janitorial activities of the service.
• Thorough knowledge of methods used in cleaning of a large or small facility.
• Knowledge of floor care (hard floor and carpeting).
• Ability to work with a diverse workforce.
• Ability to communicate effectively and maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to operate and use tools/equipment for training purposes.
• Ability to make the most efficient use of personnel as instructed, can delegate tasks and. assignments
• Ability to train and manage a large or small group of employees.
• Considerable knowledge of employee policies and procedures.
• Ability to follow instructions and respond using oral and written communication.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Ability to work effectively independently or with a team.
• Basic knowledge of general housekeeping methods and practices, cleaning products and use.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Supervise daily work and custodians; inspect all assigned areas daily to ensure work is being carried out properly and orderly.
• Keys keeping
• Lost and Found returns.

• Evaluate performance of custodial personnel; prepares and submits team observations to manager as well as incident reports, also counsels employees.
• Holds daily staff briefings to cover key topics for the day as needed and ensures staff has clear understanding of responsibilities and has the tools and equipment needed for their job.
• Supervises staff schedule/time approvals, other responsibilities included but not limited to making sure break times are followed.
• Communicates with our Admin to ensure good record keeping.
• Supervises and makes proactive decisions in daily shifts regarding staff, consumable inventory, and task frequencies.
• Identifies development and training needs and ensures that all training is obtained.
• Stock supplies and supervises inventories in janitorial closets, coordinate with Manager for supply delivery from Central Storage or Warehouse.
• Maintains records, prepares reports, and composes correspondence relative to the work.
• Makes rounds to check for crew coverage of designated work areas, gives special cleaning instructions and/ or assignments, in compliance with direction of upper Management.
• Conducts inspections utilizing company issued methods and measures as instructed by upper Management. Takes pictures of the work.
• Trains and ensures the staff understands their job requirements, this includes the proper cleaning methods, the use of equipment, safety practices, illness and injury prevention and work regulation.
• Corresponds with QC and Management for support, updates and duties.
• Completes a shift-end report shared with all supervisors from all three shifts, QC and Management.

Physical Demands and Performance Expectations: The Supervisor position is a physically demanding position. The work requires routine walking, standing, bending, lifting heavy objects operating medium weight cleaning equipment.
