Contractor Program Security Officer

Key Role:

Perform a wide range of functions to ensure the protection of firm and government sensitive and classified information. Apply advanced skills, extensive technical expertise and full industry knowledge. Develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Work without considerable direction. Mentor and supervise team members. Coordinate and monitor Department of Defense and Intelligence Community (IC) security program and other security activities, including ensuring compliance with government and company security policies and procedures. Conduct security briefings and local security education programs. Liaise with outside agencies and keep upper management informed of all investigation results. Implement standard security procedures, participate in fact finding, manage access controls, and coordinate classified document control and distribution. Communicate security procedures and policies to employees and subcontractors. Leverage expertise in multiple security domains, including personnel security, document control, visitor control, physical security, classification management, and DD Form 254 administration. Prepare for and participate in security compliance audits and vulnerability assessments.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with security in an industrial security program or using government security regulatory manuals, including DoD or IC

  • Experience investigating security violations and submitting required reports to the government

  • Experience applying tailored, responsive, and multi-disciplined security support, including personnel, physical, technical, operational, and information security aimed at the protection of corporate and client personnel, information, facilities, programs, and capabilities

  • Experience implementing, interpreting, and applying IC and DoD security policies, including National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs), and requirements for classified and sensitive compartmented information (SCI) programs

  • Knowledge of personnel and physical security policies and regulations, including ICD 704, ICD 705, and DOD Manual 5205.07

  • Knowledge of contract and acquisition security practice

  • Ability to provide constructive, tactful, and discrete security advice and guidance to personnel across all levels, including senior managers, peers, subordinates, and customers

  • Top Secret clearance

  • HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting IC proposals, including documentation development

  • Ability to analyze complex problems, develop and articulate focused solutions, and take independent action in an often-ambiguous work environment

  • Ability to be passionate, self-motivated, proactive, quick-thinking, flexible, and thorough and juggle multiple responsibilities

  • Ability to tackle matters outside area of expertise

  • Ability to consistently optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of the security team.

  • Possession of excellent organizational, detail-orientated, and time management skills

  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Possession of excellent customer service skills

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required.
