As an Outpatient Scheduling Specialist, you will be the first point of contact for patients and families seeking services at our Outpatient Center. This is your chance to make a positive impact and take the next step in your career.

In this role, you can expect to perform a variety of important tasks, including:

  • Perform duties related to patient registration:
    • Greeting patients and family members
    • Checking patients in for appointments
    • Maintains or updates information as needed in the EMR and other databases
    • Obtains necessary paperwork upon patient arrival and assures completion of all necessary forms
    • Clarifies required pre-service information with the patient, family members or referral sources
    • Explains policies and procedures to provide a clear understanding of patient responsibilities
  • Perform duties related to patient scheduling:
    • Schedules and modifies appointments for new and established patients to ensure timely access to services. 
    • Responds to telephone requests for services and inquiries, and communicates with assigned staff to facilitate requested services
    • Consults with providers, nurses, supervisors, and other appropriate resources to resolve complex patient needs or scheduling issues
    • Send new patient packets out, initiate appointment reminder calls, manage waitlists, and send recall reminders for follow-up appointments.
    • Coordinate interpreter services as needed

Schedule for position:  Mondays - Fridays 8AM-5PM or 9AM-6PM- with a 1-hour unpaid lunch

Starting Wage: Base of $17.25/hour plus additional for each year of experience. Includes full Benefit Package.

Requirements 

Education and Experience

High School diploma/GED is required. One year’s experience scheduling in a medical clinic is required. Post secondary education is preferred.

Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities or other chronic health conditions is also preferred.
