Job Summary:
As the Force Account Coordinator at RailPros, you will act as the primary point of contact to ensure effective communication and coordination between operating railroads, contractors, project managers, and other stakeholders. Your role will focus on monitoring, oversight, and reporting of force account services essential for project success.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Pre-Construction Coordination: Collaborate with operating railroads and contractors to facilitate all pre-construction requirements, including force account planning, safety plans, contractor orientation, and entry permits.
Construction Oversight: Ensure safe operations during construction by working closely with railroads and contractors. Facilitate outage requests and manage force account support to optimize resource utilization.
Record Keeping & Reporting: Maintain records and report on force account support and outages. Provide weekly/monthly reports to railroads on force account services, work activities, and progress, ensuring efficient use of track outages and personnel.
Track Outages & Scheduling: Oversee the use of track outages, scheduling, and processing requests for track access, protection, flagging, work trains, and test trains. Coordinate resource planning and support needs with contractors and railroads.
Force Account Plan Coordination: Serve as the liaison between railroads and contractors to monitor and report on force account work and track outages. Facilitate the development and approval of Site-Specific Safety Work Plans (SSSWP) and coordinate flagging and outage requests.
QualificationsKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Knowledge of Railroad Operations: Familiarity with railroad operations, especially on the Northeast Corridor Line.
Understanding of Policies and Procedures: Knowledge of railroad operating policies and procedures for outage scheduling, flag protection, and force account operations.
Strong Communication Skills: Excellent communication and negotiation skills to effectively coordinate with various stakeholders.
Required Education and Experience:
High School Diploma.
RWP Training.
Minimum of 10 years of railroad operating experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
20+ years of railroad operating experience.
Additional Qualifications, Certifications, etc.:
Experience in capital project coordination.
Railroad Safety Training certification for all impacted railroads.
