Lab Technician/Clinical Assistant Responsibilities to Include:
· Perform routine tests in clinical laboratories for use in treatment and diagnosis of disease using standard techniques and equipment
· Perform related duties in laboratory to include storing and labeling specimens and using manual and automatic equipment to prepare specimen and perform analytical tests
· Escort patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient’s chart
· Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies
Requirements· High school diploma or equivalent
· Course work in health care preferred
· Prior medical practice experience preferred
· Basic knowledge of laboratory safety and infection control procedures and practices including standard precautions and hazardous chemical handling preferred
· Working knowledge of computer applications
· Prior experience with EMR preferred
· Ability to speak, read and write effectively
· Ability to work independently without direct supervision
· Ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines, in a detail-oriented manner
· Flexible scheduling availability required
