Area of Specialization: Sports Performance Coach

TYPICAL ACTIVITIES

The Sports Performance Coach will work to optimize athletic performance, decrease injury potential, and implement flexibility/mobility programs into warm-ups, lifting, post-training to ensure peak performance of athletes by overseeing the strength & conditioning program, including scheduling, program development, rules and guidelines, security & safety, cleaning and maintenance of the weight room as well as identification of equipment needs and maintenance. The sports performance coach will also manage testing protocols to determine the effectiveness of strength and conditioning training plans.

Qualified candidates must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population and to working effectively with faculty, staff and students across a wide range of disciplines.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 4 years of coaching experience at the collegiate level or higher.
• Bachelor's Degree

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Master's Degree.

The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
