Organization & Role

The Field Product Specialist (FPS) is a key position to drive Teradyne’s business growth.  The FPS works closely with both the sales and engineering teams to define the best solution to customer problems using Teradyne’s products.  It is an opportunity to learn both technical and customer skills and later pursue a wide range of careers at Teradyne.  This is a good position for someone in an engineering role who wants to grow into a position that is more comprehensive.

For this position, the expertise required is in the area of the software aspects of test program development and debug.  This is a factory-based position and the person who fills this role will provide support globally to ongoing sales opportunities as well as for established customers.  This support will primarily be provided remotely but the position will entail travel to customers globally.
 

Responsibilities

⦁    Build direct technical partnerships with prospective and existing customers.
⦁    Uncover any technical benefits Teradyne can provide to win or grow business.
⦁    Identify technical specialists within Teradyne who can help design and deliver these specific product solutions and create informal, cross functional teams to accomplish this.
⦁    Provide input to key strategic decisions concerning positioning, product marketing, engineering roadmaps and differentiation.
⦁    Provide feedback to factory teams to help drive product roadmap.
 

Basic Qualifications & Skills

The candidate should meet as many of the following criteria as possible.
⦁    A minimum of 15 years of working experience in SOC validation or test, either as a test development engineer, DFT engineer, or a developer of tools to enable test program development.
⦁    Practical experience with leading edge SOC ATE systems (Advantest and/or Teradyne).
⦁    A bachelor’s degree or above in Software Engineering, or Electrical engineering with a software concentration.
⦁    Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to form relationships with customers’ engineering and application staff at all levels, as well as with Teradyne’s own technical staff.
⦁    The ability to collaborate with customers and colleagues, but also to assume leadership, drive actions to conclusion, and have the flexibility to pivot in new directions as situations develop.
⦁    Strong communication and presentation skills.
⦁    Some experience with competitive benchmarks is helpful, but not required
⦁    The desire to grow and learn new “soft” skills to complement existing technical skills.  This job is about knowing people, as well as technology.

Areas of Technical Expertise

The candidate should have experience with, or the desire to learn, the following specific skills:

⦁    Visual Studio and C# programming environment and toolset
⦁    Java and C++ knowledge base is beneficial but not required
⦁    Software testing, including unit and integration testing
⦁    ATE test program generation and debug tools
⦁    EDA to Test workflows (structural, BIST, and Functional test)
⦁    Data Analytics
 

Education

 Bachelor’s degree or above in Software Engineering, or Electrical engineering with a software concentration.
