Overview
Job Summary:
The Resort General Manager at Red Mountain Resort is responsible for the overall management and operation of the resort, ensuring that all departments function seamlessly to provide an exceptional guest experience. This position reports directly to the Managing Director and is accountable for maintaining the highest standards of service, profitability, and staff engagement. The Resort General Manager plays a key role in driving the resort's strategic vision, financial performance, and operational excellence.
Job Specification:
Location: Onsite at Red Mountain ResortShift & Schedule: Year-Round / Full TimePay Range: $140,000 - $160,000 This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the resort, ensuring all departments operate efficiently and effectively.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to drive profitability, guest satisfaction, and employee engagement.
- Monitor financial performance, including revenue, expenses, and profitability, and take corrective actions as necessary to meet financial goals.
- Ensure that all guest services, including accommodations, dining, spa, and activities, meet or exceed the resort’s high standards of quality and service.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment by providing leadership, motivation, and professional development opportunities for staff.
- Maintain open communication with the managing director, providing regular updates on resort performance and key initiatives.
- Oversee hiring, training, and performance management of department heads and other key staff members.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including guests, community leaders, and vendors.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including health and safety standards.
- Manage the resort’s budget, including forecasting, financial reporting, and capital planning.
- Handle guest complaints and feedback with professionalism, ensuring timely resolution and continuous improvement.
- Participate in industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to stay informed about trends and best practices in hospitality and wellness.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in hospitality management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role, preferably in a resort or wellness environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven track record of driving financial performance, guest satisfaction, and employee engagement.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of hospitality operations, including rooms, food and beverage, spa, and guest services.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to develop and execute long-term plans.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle complex situations with poise and professionalism.
- Proficiency with financial management software, property management systems, and other relevant technology.
- Passion for wellness, sustainability, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
