Project Overview:

Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. Bechtel will design and build Phase 1 of the Ohio One project, a total of 2.5 million square feet, including 600,000 square feet of cleanrooms. Construction will require as much steel as eight Eiffel Towers and as much concrete as the tallest skyscrapers.

 

Bechtel will strengthen future economic development in the region by partnering with the North America Building Trades Unions and suppliers to create several thousand new jobs and work with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline.

Position Summary:

Interfacing with Bechtel field engineering, planners, and supervision to facilitate Installation Work Package (IWP) scoping in Teamworks and P6 L4 schedule development. Providing timely updates to Area Field Engineer's and Supervision as to Installation Work Package (IWP) scope, status, and schedule. Focus on coordinating Sub-contractor IWP packages development and review proposed packages. Work includes field inspections and the physical ability to conduct field inspections which require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e., harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.) 

 

Responsibilities:

• Participating in 3D model reviews to ensure construction installation requirements are preserved during design development.
• Coordinating with procurement to identify IWP material delivery status in the Bechtel Procurement System (BPS) look ahead viewer.
• Coordinate with home office engineering for design complete with respect to construction schedule. Maintaining IWP input in Teamworks and updating as design is completed and revised.
• Working with the Turnover Coordinator to track IWP's and inspection records to completion.
• Developing status reports using project databases spanning multiple Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAP's).  

 

Qualifications and Skills:

Basic Qualifications:

• Degree qualification in Engineering plus related field experience is preferred but may be waived if the candidate has suitable technical working experience.

 

Additional Qualifications:

• Prior experience in work scope packaging, material take-offs and quantity reporting.
• Knowledge of using a 3D Model, Teamworks/Setroute database, Primavera P6, DSCS, and Bechtel construction procedures is essential. 

• Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). 
• Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e., harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.)
