About the Role

Compliance: They ensure the company meets legal standards. Business Continuity: They design the "Plan B." If the servers go down or a cyberattack hits, the VP ensures the company can be back online in minutes, not days. Budgeting: They manage the IT Spend. This involves balancing the cost of keeping the lights on (maintenance) versus investing in innovation. Vendor Hardball: They negotiate with giants like Microsoft, Amazon, or Salesforce. They ensure the company isn't overpaying for "shelfware".  Resource Allocation: Deciding whether to hire more full-time engineers or outsource specific projects to a managed service provider (MSP). Modernizing the Stack: Deciding when it’s time to kill off "Legacy Systems”and move to modern, agile platforms.
