Distribution Manager

Primary Responsibilities:

Lead and manage all distribution functions, including receipt and storage of raw materials, finished goods thru-put, inventory, transportation planning and execution, carrier management, and outbound order fulfillment.

Champion a safe, inclusive, and respectful work environment — free from discrimination and harassment.

Collaborate with Production Scheduling, Plant Production, and Inventory Control teams to ensure seamless product flow and inventory accuracy.

Oversee compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations for campus commercial vehicles and drivers.

Maintain strong operational performance using a Warehouse Management System (WMS), SAP, and Microsoft Office tools.

Build strong relationships across internal teams, vendors, and freight carriers.
Key Duties:

Direct operations for receiving, storing, and fulfilling orders across multiple plants (Plant 4, Plant 5, Plant 6).

Manage manpower planning, scheduling, and training to meet business needs.

Ensure all personnel are properly trained and certifications are up to date.

Oversee and support annual physical inventory of finished goods.

Drive compliance with federal, state, and local regulations for commercial vehicles and driver management.

Promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, inventory accuracy, and order fulfillment performance.

Manage department expense supplies and forklift fleet operations.

Participate in and lead safety, operations, scheduling, and distribution meetings.
Qualifications:
Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Experience:
-
Minimum of 5 years' experience managing inventory, distribution, and material handling operations within a WMS-enabled distribution organization.

Strong knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office products required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong leadership skills — able to inspire, motivate, and guide diverse teams.

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Advanced reading, writing, math, and communication skills (both verbal and written).

Experience operating and managing warehouse equipment and software (including SAP, WMS, SFIS).

Knowledge of safety standards, inventory control procedures, and transportation compliance (CFR, IATA, IMDG certifications preferred).
Work Environment:

Manufacturing and warehouse setting.

Typically Monday through Friday, with flexibility as needed to meet business demands.
