Guidehealth is on a mission to make healthcare affordable for everyone, and the Data Science team is at the heart of making that happen. As a Senior Technologist, you'll build the data pipelines, automation systems, and AI-powered tools that turn mountains of complex health data into insights that directly improve how we care for patients. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines that ingest, transform, and deliver diverse health data across clinical, claims, and operational sources.
- Developing and managing automation systems that improve reliability, reduce manual intervention, and support the continuous flow of data across the organization.
- Leading the integration of clinical data sources into Guidehealth’s platform, with deep application of FHIR standards to ensure interoperability and data fidelity.
- Partnering with clinical and operational teams to understand data requirements and translate them into robust, production-ready technical solutions.
- Designing and implementing LLM-based pipelines to process patient information, clinical notes, and care management interactions at scale, driving actionable insights for care teams.
- Collaborating with the AI/ML team to deploy and operationalize models, and independently building AI-powered data workflows where needed.
- Contributing to code review and quality assurance processes, helping maintain high standards for data pipeline reliability and output accuracy.
- Serving as a key technical resource across the organization, helping stakeholders understand data capabilities and translate business problems into engineering solutions.
Qualifications
WHAT YOU'LL NEED FOR SUCCESS
- Bachelor’s degree in a health-related, computer science, mathematics, or similarly quantitative field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in a technical role, with at least 3 years working directly with healthcare data.
- Demonstrated familiarity with healthcare data types, including claims, clinical, and administrative data.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python for data querying, transformation, and pipeline development.
- Hands-on experience with designing, building, and maintaining an end-to-end data pipeline with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including data storage and processing services.
- Experience designing and implementing automated data workflows and systems.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or similar).
- Experience using source control systems such as GitHub or Subversion.
- Experience using Jira or similar project tracking tools for managing technical work.
- Ability to travel 10-15%
WHAT WE'D LOVE FOR YOU TO HAVE
- Familiarity with Value-Based Care concepts such as quality improvement, utilization management, and risk adjustment.
- Experience with healthcare data standards and formats, including HL7, FHIR, and CCDAs.
- Experience using population health management platforms such as Arcadia, Milliman, or Innovacer.
