POSITION SUMMARY

CVS Healthcare is seeking a proactive, passionate, and self-motivated professional to join our high-performing and rapidly expanding team, dedicated to making a meaningful impact on customer lives. This individual will be at the vanguard of digital innovation, tasked with redefining the role of pharmacy and healthcare in the digital landscape.

The position of Senior Manager of Engineering – Pharmacy is integral to our Retail Pharmacy Technology organization, which encompasses multiple teams focused on the support, enhancement, and development of new programs and services within our comprehensive suite of pharmacy offerings. The initiatives undertaken in this role will contribute to the creation of our next-generation platform, ensuring the effective translation of use cases into innovative products aimed at promoting healthier lifestyles for our customers.

In this capacity, you will lead a team of engineers engaged in the development of cutting-edge applications and products, positioning CVS Healthcare at the forefront of technological advancement in the industry.

In this role, you will:

  • Partner with application owners, business partners and peer engineering groups to implement long and short-range technical solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Analyze and contribute to project and business requirements based on product team milestones and priority.
  • Actively participate in Agile Scrum team activities including Sprint Planning, Grooming, Scrum, Reviews and Retrospectives
  • Be a technologist and work with other Engineers in architecting and designing solutions along with planning, prioritizing and performing assigned tasks within deadlines
  • Responsible for end-to-end application development & delivery including production deployment, application operationalization, and observability.
  • Develop applications/web services and cloud native apps using Java, Spring boot, Microservices, REST API, GCP and other tech stacks (open source / proprietary)
  • Unit testing using frameworks such as Junit, Mockito
  • Build and deploy services using GitHub, CircleCI, Harness as part of CI/CD process in leading Cloud Platforms - AWS, GCP or Azure etc.
  • Continuously checking and monitoring App health and KPIs, support triage of any production issues as and when needed
  • Be an advocate for and implementer of security best practices
  • Adopt and apply industry technology best practices

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years software development and requirement analysis, design experience using Java
  • 5+ years of proven experience in product engineering leadership roles
  • 5+ years successfully working in IT projects in an Agile development methodology
  • 3+ years of experience working on multiple IT projects on varying technology stacks especially cloud-based technologies such as GCP, Azure or AWS
  • 3+ years of experience in any modern programming languages such as Python, React, Node js.
  • 3+ years of experience working in SQL databases such as Postgress, MySQL or Spanner

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced Experience in Opensource frameworks such Microservices, Spring boot and Kafka
  • Experience building and operating large scale distributed systems.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to fostering the success of others by mentoring and coaching engineers through pair programming.
  • Strong understanding of observability and using telemetry to inform decision making.
  • Proficient in both independent work and collaborative team environments
  • Domain experience with pharmacy, retail or ecommerce

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$130,295.00 - $260,590.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This pos
