POSITION SUMMARY

The Assistant Director of Programs at the Graduate School provides leadership and

administrative direction in developing and execution of large-scale events, student success programs at the Graduate School such as Student Success Services, the Wellness Program, and Student Case Management to ensure fulfillment of the program objectives. This position provides administrative direction to assigned program to include managing and coordinating budget, financial development, and administration of the Graduate Student Affairs. xx

 

This position reports to the Associate Dean for Graduate Programs. This is a full time, exempt position, and is based at Duke University’s Durham, NC campus. A work schedule of Monday through Friday is required. Some remote work flexibility may be considered depending upon the operational needs of the Graduate School. This option is subject to change based on departmental needs.

 

DUTIES & WORK PERFORMED: 

 

  1. Manage Student Success Programming: 60%
  • Student Success Services Management & Implementation
    • Medical Expense and Hardship Assistance Program
    • Direct Medical Expense and Hardship Assistance Program and manage all Medical and Hardship applications, recommendations, monthly receipts from award recipients, process necessary paperwork for subsidy distribution, and the monthly reimbursement.

 

    • Direct the Graduate School Subsidy Committee meetings with committee members to determine objectives of the program.

 

    • Lead the Subsidy Committee in developing and implementing program protocol, procedures, and operating policies for Medical Expense and Hardship Assistant Program.

 

    • Identify internal and external resources available to meet those objectives.

 

    • Promote the Medical Expense and Hardship Assistance Program to students and staff, ensuring awareness of application requirements and deadlines.

 

    • Prepare data analysis and annual reports for the program.

 

  • Childcare Subsidy Program 
  • Direct Childcare Subsidy program and manage all Childcare Subsidy applications, recommendations, monthly receipts from award recipients, process necessary paperwork for subsidy distribution, and the monthly reimbursement.

 

  • Direct the Graduate School Subsidy Committee meetings with committee members to determine objectives of the program.

 

  • Lead the Subsidy Committee in developing and implementing program protocol, procedures, and operating policies for Childcare Subsidy Program.

 

    • Identify internal and external resources available to meet those objectives.

 

    • Promote the Childcare Subsidy Program to students and staff, ensuring awareness of application requirements and deadlines.

 

    • Prepare data analysis and annual reports for the program.
