About the role

Job Description

Our Carlow Site has a Senior Technician 03 level positions available. You will fulfil the Senior Technician role, ensuring fairness, consistency, and transparency. You will demonstrate Leadership behaviours. You will ensure the various production, maintenance and operations related tasks are effectively performed. Ensure that objectives are effectively achieved, consistent with company’s requirements to ensure compliance, safety, and reliable supply to our customers.

What you will do:

Bring energy, knowledge, innovation, and leadership to carry out the following:

  • Coordinate production activities and support equipment, including MES, Delta V and SAP based systems, to ensure optimum equipment uptime and target outputs. Equipment will include, yet is not limited to, parts washers, autoclaves, portable tank CIP/SIP/storage panels, Vial Washer, Depyro Tunnel, Debagger, and filling machines.
  • Coordinate schedules, tasks, and resources in IPT and cross functionally, including vendor management, communications, training, project work, audit/inspection duties. Ensure real time review is complete in a timely manner and schedule adherence is achieved and reported on a weekly basis.
  • Coordinate clean room cleaning, housekeeping and materials management in all production areas while focusing on continuous process improvement using Lean Principles.
  • Manage equipment flow, including tracking soiled and clean hold times, proper labelling and inventory management of clean and sterile equipment using Kanbans and automated MES system to set QC status and expiry of sterile equipment.
  • Ensure process equipment is maintained including preventative maintenance, equipment troubleshooting and repairs to ensure continuous, reliable, and repeatable operation of equipment. Effectively manage and schedule equipment shutdowns, ensuring resources are available, thereby minimizing downtown.
  • Ensure effective participation in writing/revising/ rolling out accurate operational procedures, training documents and maintenance procedures for various IPT systems; ensure all work is carried out in line with same.
  • Ensure equipment reliability and performance by ensuring root cause analysis is performed and subsequent recommendations and improvement changes throughout processes are implemented including the calibration of equipment as necessary.
  • Work collaboratively to drive a safe and compliant culture in Carlow.
  • Required to comply with Global Policies, Procedures and Guidelines, regulatory requirements and execute current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) in the performance of day-to-day activities and all applicable job functions.
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

What skills you will need:

In order to excel in this role, you will more than likely have:

  • Leaving Certificate or equivalent required.
  • Diploma or higher preferred but not essential as equivalency will be granted for demonstrated performance and experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in SAP, MES, and GLIMS.
  • Train the trainer and a proven ability in training new and existing colleagues in procedures and processes.
  • Experience and/or a particular skill set in their area of expertise that adds value to the business; ideally in a manufacturing, preferably GMP setting.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interface effectively with all levels of colleagues in a team environment, and with external customers.
  • Demonstrate Leadership behaviours and previous experience is a similar role.
  • Understand the specific responsibilities of all Carlow departments as they relate to one’s own
