This position reports to the Director of Finance and works closely with clinical leadership and IT teams. The Senior Financial Operations Analyst serves as a strategic partner between Clinical Operations and Corporate Finance, ensuring financial insights are aligned with operational goals. This role supports Shepherd Center’s initiatives by leveraging data-driven analysis, financial modeling, and cross-functional collaboration to drive strategic decision-making and improve operational efficiency.Financial Analysis & Planning
- Analyze trends in revenue, volume, expenses, and productivity to identify opportunities and risks.
- Update actual results and roll forward projections to support operational and strategic decisions.
- Develop proformas and financial models to evaluate new services and estimate performance.
- Support the development of long-range financial plans, including sensitivity modeling and executive-level presentations.
- Gather and analyze financial and benchmark data to identify key trends and forecast future performance.
Operational Support & Collaboration
- Collaborate with Clinical Operations to develop annual budgets and educate teams on financial policies and processes.
- Provide financial analytical support to clinical leaders to assist them in understanding and managing their budgets.
- Recommend financial actions aligned with organizational goals and strategic priorities.
Systems & Technology
- Act as a liaison between Corporate Finance and Information Systems & Technology, advocating for user needs.
- Troubleshoot application issues, coordinate system upgrades, and ensure post-implementation support.
- Document support processes and expand system solutions as business needs evolve.
Leadership & Communication
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information and ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Mentor and train team members, serving as a resource and leader in department-wide communications.
- Lead or support project management initiatives with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field (CPA, CFA, HFMA Certification or Master’s preferred).
- 3–5 years of progressive experience in healthcare finance, hospital operations, or financial planning and analysis.
- Strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting.
- Experience with financial systems and data visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Epic (clinical data), Workday (ERP), and StrataJazz (budgeting and forecasting).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to bridge clinical and financial teams.
- Ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.
