About the role

The HR Generalist will be the lead HR onsite representative for three sites: two in Tracy, California, and one in Auburn, WA. This is a fast-paced environment that requires attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple tasks throughout the day.

At Hollingsworth, HR Generalists act as a business partner on human resource matters, including but not limited to workforce planning, recruiting, performance management, employee engagement/relations, training, and special projects. They lead the administration and implementation of human resources policies and procedures and their dissemination through employee booklets, communications, and/or meetings. They prepare reports in conformance with legislated requirements or organizational needs. They are an active, visible person on the site.

They will be part of a collaborative and supportive HR team headquartered in Dearborn, MI, and with team members across the US. Together and independently, each team member works to address traditional HR needs and to support long-term employment at Hollingsworth and our company values of community, diversity & inclusion, integrity, safety, and continuous improvement.

• Employee Relations & Conflict Management
• Ability to mediate disputes between staff and supervisors, enforcing policies fairly, and maintaining high engagement in a demanding environment
• Recruitment & Onboarding
• Ability to review applicants, interview, and onboard warehouse staff quickly to meet production demands.
• Knowledge of Labor Laws
• Understanding of FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act), FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act), and state-specific regulations.
• Written & Verbal Communication
• Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively across different levels of the organization, including non-native English speakers.
• Technical Proficiency
• Competence with HR information Systems (HRIS) for time/attendance tracking, applicant tracking, and filing documentation.
• Time Management & Organization
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines effectively, ensuring timely completion of tasks
• Safety & Compliance
• Deep understanding of safety regulations, workers' compensation, and managing work-site injuries and accidents.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Overall accountability for local recruiting and hiring practices and performance.
• Strengthen employee relations by actively listening and appropriately responding to employee concerns on time and by initiating proactive and effective processes.
• Handle internal crises and investigations regarding performance and/or behavior. Provide effective advice and counseling to supervisors on all matters involving employee relations.
• Contribute to employee engagement through employee recognition, events planning, and encouraging employee participation.
• Lead local onboarding and manage documentation requirements for new hires, including all necessary paperwork to ensure compliance with corporate, federal, and state requirements.
• Manage and process unemployment claims and related documentation.
• Create an environment that fosters loyalty, learning, trust, diversity and inclusion, and equal opportunity.
• Demonstrate initiative, project management skills, and an attention to detail while maintaining a high degree of accuracy in a high-volume, fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
• Communicate, collaborate, and network with employees at all levels, HR colleagues, and management. Ensure the integrity and quality of all information produced.
• Represent the site's needs in HR planning and discussions.
• Lead implementation of corporate HR programs, policies, and communications.
• Travel to other assigned sites, including quarterly visits to the facility in Auburn, WA.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
