Job Description

Verisk is looking for a QA Automation Engineer to perform functional and UAT testing to ensure we deliver Quality Products. We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer with basic programming skills or a recent graduate of computer science (junior programmer) to create automated scripts. Our team works and interacts very closely with the Product Owners and other stakeholders – internal and external so we are seeking a candidate with clear communication skills, constructive and professional interaction. In this role the candidate will be required to build / maintain test cases, create automated scripts, detail oriented and have an innovative mind set. The candidate will be participating and supporting the new product launches, project / customer implementations, system enhancements and process improvements in a fast-paced Agile environment. 

About the Day to Day Responsibilities of the Role

  • Design, create and enhance test cases for functional and regression testing  
  • A good understanding on data driven testing and relational / non-relational databases 
  • Identify scenarios and test data for requirements and actively work with development and Product teams 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Comfortable managing multiple project releases and deployment testing  
  • Ability to learn and adapt to continuous changing requirements and timelines 
  • Establish good working relations and confidence within the team and across development, business, and Product teams 
  • Decision making skills on critical issues 
  • Manage competing priorities for aggressive timelines independently 
  • Managing end-to-end testing of the application in automated fashion 
  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal

Qualifications

About You and How You Can Excel in this Role

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with 3 years’ experience 
  • Experience in creating robust regression suite  
  • Design, create and execute automated scripts 
  • Experience with AWS and basic cloud architecture is highly desirable 
  • Knowledgeable with automation using JMeter and Selenium 
  • Hands-on experience with UI front ended testing 
  • Knowledge using Microsoft Office suite of products – word and excel is required 
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Bamboo, Jenkins is desirable  
  • Cucumber and Atlassian Bamboo experience desirable 
  • Experience with XML, Json, Web concepts such as REST APIs, HTTP Get and Post
